Our new VDE torque wrench: voltage-proof and efficient

Using a VDE torque wrench for industrial applications
When working on live parts, user safety is the first priority. This is why VDE-certified tools have external insulation that prevents electrical breakdowns and voltage flashovers up to 1,000 volts. In this article, we will explain why this protective measure has previously been at the expense of efficiency and flexibility, and also how our new MANOSKOP® 730 VDE eliminates this shortcoming.

Conventional VDE torque wrenches: Which limitations must you live with.

As with a VDE screwdriver or VDE pliers, commercially available VDE torque wrenches have an insulating plastic layer. In everyday life, however, this results in two limitations. In some cases it is possible to change the ratchet adapter, however this often means having to re-test the protective insulation of the VDE torque wrench. The same applies if you want to readjust the torque wrench in-house to bring it back into the tolerance range, during calibration for example – sending the wrench to an insulation testing institute is also required. The result: You need several VDE torque wrenches in order to be prepared for different bolted joints or as a replacement for tools that have been sent away for testing.

How does the MANOSKOP® 730 VDE give you more flexibility and choice?

With the new MANOSKOP® 730 VDE, these disadvantages are a thing of the past. We've equipped its double-insulated sheath made of special plastic with secure, resealable openings in the area of the adjustment points. If you notice that the tool is out of tolerance, you can adjust it in a few easy steps – without having to get a new VDE test. The same applies for exchanging the ratchet: This too is made possible by our innovative insulation. As the owner of a MANOSKOP® 730 VDE, you benefit from greater tool availability and maximum flexibility without compromising on safety.

How the MANOSKOP® 730 VDE gets the best results quickly.

Apart from these advantages, the MANOSKOP® 730 VDE has further features that ensure a long service life and guarantee extremely fast, safe and precise work. Its springless, low-wear release system with bending rod, for example, requires no reset to "0". This saves time and delivers the outstanding measurement results you have come to expect from STAHLWILLE – for the entire service life of the product. What's more, thanks to the QuickSelect rotary knob, the release torque is set in no time and is extremely precise due to the torque wrench's additional fine scale.
All this makes the MANOSKOP® 730 VDE a worthy ‘flagship’ for our extensive VDE range and arguably the most efficient VDE torque wrench on the market. But the best thing is to see for yourself:
