DAPTIQ® tools: smarter networking with new WLAN module

Close-up of a STAHLWILLE torque wrench MANOSKOP 766 DAPTIQ with WLAN module during assembly of a tester. Measured values can be seen on the screen, while workshop shelves and organiser boxes in the background make clear that the application relates to precise torque measurement and quality assurance.
DAPTIQ® torque tools have become an indispensable part of digitally networked production and quality assurance. For businesses that rely on Industry 4.0, they are now an even more attractive choice, because the optional DAPTIQ® WLAN module, a very popular method of wirelessly integrating a tool into a network, is now available.
Previously it was possible to integrate DAPTIQ® torque tools into your network through a wired USB interface or wirelessly with Bluetooth LE or industrial radio (ISM). A third option – wireless LAN – has now been added.
01.

Dual band compatible and flexible

Like the Bluetooth and radio modules, the DAPTIQ® WLAN module can be installed and ready for use in a few simple steps. It connects your torque tool to the local WLAN via TCP/IP, while providing many options for adapting to existing IT infrastructures. Among other things, this includes support for TLS certificates, flexible authentication options, and a wide range of network settings offering secure and stable integration in industrial WLAN environments.
02.

Fast and powerful

The DAPTIQ® WLAN module also has another advantage over Bluetooth and radio: it enables significantly higher transmission rates and makes the cooperation between DAPTIQ® products and the guidance system even faster and more efficient. If you use real-time communication, you can use the module to unlock the full potential of wireless data transmission and complete networking.
03.

Seamless integration

Last but not least, the DAPTIQ® WLAN module offers a very popular method of seamless networking. While in many production environments, wired connections are still preferred – for instance due to very stable latencies or high reliability – WLAN is a useful addition wherever mobility, spatial flexibility or the integration of changing workstations is required. The ease of integration in existing networks and convenient control via TCP/IP make the module a versatile addition for networked assembly and testing processes.

Compatible tools

The DAPTIQ® WLAN module is compatible with the MANOSKOP® 765 DAPTIQ®, the MANOSKOP® 766 DAPTIQ® and the TORSIOTRONIC® DAPTIQ®. This enables you to integrate your network-friendly tool flexibly and seamlessly into your digital infrastructure.
